To do this, first we need to package up our old account in WHM\/cPanel.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Make a note of our old account&#8217;s username &amp; password,<\/li>\n<li>PuTTY into our old WHM\/cPanel server,<\/li>\n<li>Use the following command to package the old account:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"jr_console\">[user@oldserver ~]$ \/scripts\/pkgacct accountname<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">where &#8220;accountname&#8221; is the name of the account that we&#8217;re transferring.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the packaging to complete.<\/li>\n<li>When complete, you should see the message:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"jr_console\">[user@oldserver ~]$ pkgacct completed<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Now we need to move the package to somewhere we can locate it later. The best place is in the &#8220;public_html&#8221; folder of the account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"jr_console\">[user@oldserver ~]$ mv \/home\/cpmove-accountname.tar.gz \/home\/accountname\/public_html<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>We need to set the correct permissions for the packaged file:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"jr_console\">[user@oldserver ~]$ cd \/home\/accountname\/public_html<br \/>\n[user@oldserver public_html]$ chmod 0644 cpmove-accountname.tar.gz<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>With the package complete, we now want to get it to our new server. The quickest way of doing this is to PuTTY into our new server, and use wget:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"jr_console\">[user@newserver ~]$ wget http:\/\/www.accountdomainname.tld\/cpmove-accountname.tar.gz<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>where &#8220;accountdomainname.tld&#8221; is the domain name for the account.<\/p>\n<li>Wait for the output to show that the transfer is complete.<\/li>\n<li>Delete the package from the old server, so that no one else can get it in the same way:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"jr_console\">[user@oldserver public_html]$ rm cpmove-accountname.tar.gz<br \/>\nrm: remove regularfile &#8216;cpmove-accountname.tar.gz&#8217;? [y]<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Press the [ENTER] key to accept the default response.<\/li>\n<li>When complete, type:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"jr_console\">[user@oldserver public_html]$ exit;<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">&nbsp;<\/li>\n<ul>The terminal window will close. The packaged account file is now ready to be migrated onto our new server.
